SXS VOL.2 ERUPTION TENDER.
The concept for Eruption Tender emerged when I became convinced I had discovered a swollen lymph node on the side of my neck. After repeatedly pressing at it and catching occasional glimpses in the mirror, I eventually realised that what I was experiencing was not illness itself, but the mind's ability to create convincing illusions.
The focus was to create a sense of eruption through tender material manipulation, reflecting how the mind generates narratives in an attempt to protect and serve us. The silver studs bursting through scratched leather surfaces act as a physical representation of repetitive thoughts. Whilst the use of snakeskin became a symbol of re-skinning and renewal. It reflects a fresh way of feeling and existing within the physical body I live in.
